Starting a New Venture

Well my friends, the time has come to forge a new path. I haven't posted in - gulp - two years! Mostly because I haven't travelled. But also because I have been a little lazy - yes me. Catching up on TV shows, visiting family, spending time with friends, walking my daughter's dog and just, hangin'.

The phrase "retired and busier than ever" is true. One always finds ways and things to fill the time and it is awfully easy to get caught up in one thing or another. So before I got too used to not really doing too much, I figured it was time to get off my butt, find my passion and start rolling.

Of course you all know my passion is travelling; seeing new places and going back to old favourites, visiting family and friends and meeting new people, trying new foods and checking out cultural events and venues. So what better industry than the travel industry. I was spurred on when I read an article in the Globe and Mail about TravelOnly, an online travel business that was looking for new consultants. It's sort of like expedia but with a real live person to help you with bookings, guide you, answer questions, etc. Imagine my excitement when I read this. My reaction? "Helloo, here I come!"

I am so excited to be starting this venture and will be launching in the next couple of weeks. To begin I have created a new blog called TravelOnlywithIrene@blogspot.com. I appreciate your loyalty and won't close Retired and Busier than Ever as I may occasionally post non-travel realted things (now that I've got the writing bug again).
